Group Facilitator Training

Good facilitation skills are essential in most work-related activities and can be applied in a wide range of settings from running productive meetings to creating the right climate for organizational change. Effective facilitators draw upon a variety of communication skills and decision-making practices to help groups solve problems, work through conflict, agree on action plans and develop clarity for future direction.

Facilitated Dialogue Training

In conjunction with the Washington Department of Corrections' Victim Services Program, we are offering a four-day training in Facilitated Dialogue.This training will prepare those who want to become facilitators of conversations between survivors of serious and violent crimes and their perpetrators, and this will be the first time this traininghas been offered in Washington State. One day of the training will take place in a correctional facility.

40-Hour Professional Mediation Training

This 40-hour mediation course is designed to acquaint participants with the philosophy, concepts, process model and specific behavioral skills needed for a working role as a beginning mediator. Master a collaborative, interest-based mediation model that will assist parties in conflict to find mutually agreeable solutions.

This is the foundation course for all DRC volunteer mediators. This class is also applicable for legal, mental health, and other professionals to satisfy the Standards for Collaborative Practice by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. CLE and ethics credits available.

Tuition:

    Early Bird – $645, register before 2/14/12
    Regular Tuition – $695

Each class runs two consecutive weeks: Thursdays, 5 pm to 9 pm and both Friday and Saturday, 8:30 am to 5 pm.
